How long does it take to heal?

The healing process should take 10-14 days.
At day 2, your brows will appear darker but do not be alarmed this is expected. The color will lighten 20-30% when healed and will continue to fade over time.
At day 3-5, you can expect your brows to start flaking. During the flaking period, your brows will appear light and patchy but give it 2-4 weeks the color will even out and resurface.
Once your brows are done flaking or after 14 days, you may resume normal activities such as applying makeup, working out, etc. (EXCEPT certain activities listed in the aftercare) To prolong the longevity of your brows, avoid aggressive washing and exfoliating of the brow and wear sunscreen when exposed to sunlight.

How is the process for Ombre Powder Brows?

The package includes a consultation on your appointment day and advise on the eyebrow shape and design. I will first draw your brows with an eyebrow pencil according to your natural brow structure and preference, and will ONLY start the semi-permanent tattoo process once you have approved the shape that is fit for you. Once you have finalized your decision, we will begin the semi-permanent tattoo process. You will be numbed with topical anesthetic during the procedure (after breaking the skin) to make sure you are comfortable the whole time. Expect a booking time of 3 hours.

What should I do before my appointment?

  1. Keep off medications such as Aspirin, Fish Oil, Niacin, Vitamin E and/or Ibuprofen 72 hours prior to your procedure.
  2. Keep off alcohol and caffeine at least 24 hours before procedure. This will prevent any excess bleeding and minimizes swelling during the procedure.
  3. Avoid waxing, threading or tinting your eyebrows before the procedure.
  4. Exfoliate your brows a few days before and moisturize your brows. The softer it is the easier it is to work with.

When can I schedule my touchup appointment?

Touchup appointment can be scheduled 6-8 weeks after your initial appointment. This is optional. Touchup session is considered a perfection session to go over any spots that did not pick up the pigment well or if you would like them darker. If you are happy with the results, no need to schedule a touchup appointment. They should last you 2-3 years and you may return as soon as bi-annually for a color boost. Touchups are not done every year to maintain skin integrity.

AFTERCARE

RIGHT AFTER PROCEDURE:
Expect some redness and swelling right after the procedure. You may also experience a white halo surrounding the area and this is related to the topical anesthetic used. These symptoms will disappear in the next hour or so.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Healing takes a period of about 10 to 14 days. The healing may involve some drying, scabbing, scaling and peeling on the eyebrows which is normal during the healing process. The aftercare to ensure proper healing of the brows is listed below;

  • Avoid getting your eyebrows soaked in water until your brows are fully healed (when it is done flaking)
  • Apply a grain size of Aquaphor ointment using a Q-tip on each brow. Apply the ointment twice a day, morning and night, after cleaning with cotton pads as you shall be instructed by your artist.
  • Avoid heavy exercises or going to the gym.
  • Don’t touch and peel off the scabs as this may lead to color loss, scarring or infections (especially if hands are not clean). The scabs should shed naturally.
  • Avoid any makeup around the brows for at least 12-14 days.
  • Stay out of heavy sun exposure.
  • Avoid any facial treatments during the healing process.
  • Avoid long and hot showers.
  • Avoid washing your brows extensively. You can use a cotton pad for cleaning the area as instructed by your artist.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING THE HEALING PERIOD

Your brows will start to darken over the next couple of days and this is normal. Keep in mind that your brows will lighten by 20-30% and continue to fade overtime.
At day 3-5, you can expect your brows to itch and flake. Your brows will look like dry and flaky. When the flakes fall off, some areas of the brow may appear too light but with time, the color will resurface. It is crucial that you do not pick/touch your brows to avoid color loss and/or possible scarring.
Total brow healing time is 10-14 days. You may resume normal activities such as washing your brows or applying makeup after you are done flaking or after 14 days.
At 2 weeks, the brows may be light and patchy since the skin is flaking off in different areas. Final result and color will be at 4 weeks.

After 14 days, apply sunscreen to the brows when exposed to sunlight to promote longevity. Other ways to extend the color of your brows: being gentle around the brow area when washing your face or when exfoliating avoid the brow area.

TOUCHUP APPOINTMENT

A touchup session is considered a perfection session to fill in any spots that did not take pigment well. Touchup is recommended as everyone heals differently. It can be scheduled 6 to 8 weeks after initial procedure. New procedures are a two-step process and final results are sometimes not guaranteed until a follow visit is completed.
